Shower dude

A quick doodle of a sexxy man in the shower. The original pencil drawing was cleaned up and inked.  Then the inked version was scanned and cleaned up further.  I added a background, colors, and tweaked the facial features so that he's looking more at the viewer.

And best of all: it only took a few hours instead of days and weeks like previous drawings!!

Naughty Sketch Book #1

I challenge myself to draw the figure a lot, and one endless source of models is internet porn.  As such a lot of the figures aren't really suitable for my website, and so get dumped here.

Unreal

My friend Tim is a comic artist and we frequently spend time drawing together. Occasionally we will prank each other. Tim likes to draw inappropes naked pictures in my sketchbook and I retaliate by drawing angsty-teen-girl unicorn drawings in his.

On one particular day back in 2005ish Tim decided to combine the two and drew Prince Heartfire, Protector of All That Is Good - a naked, erect male unicorn-person. (the counterpart I drew in Tim's sketchbooks is Princess Ravenwood, a busty, full lipped unicorn princess)

 So imagine my surprise when I stumbled onto a drawing that was virtually identical in posture, line, and freaking bizarre content as Tim's original drawing.

Item Not As Described

A quick doodle of a scenario we've all been through: you see someone online, they send you hot pictures, but when they arrive they are not exactly as they appeared. In this instance a friend described the trick as "much shorter and much much wider" than he let on.

Finished Studying

Coinciding with college graduations (unintentionally) I finished up this painting. It has some issues, but overall I think it is way better than anything I've posted up until now. I kind of went crazy on the stuff on the desk, but it was fun, especially doing a little porn-within-the-porn on the computer screen. The face is a little plastic and weird, but whatever...I'm working on faces.

UnderSketch

I've been working a lot more with Painter, trying to develop my skills. I've come to realize that Painter is one of those programs that is REALLY REALLY awesome...if you know how to use it. It's the kind of thing where you need to putter around, change this, tweak that, and develop a fully custom set of tools. This is a drawing I've been working on with the intent to fully color.

For Tim

This started out as a simple doodle and then I just followed it through. I dedicate it to Tim, who has a HUGE collection of tentacle porn...most of which is drawn by me.

My Phone

I hate my phone. It's pure evil. Some people have phones that don't work. My phone wants to kill me. Or at least break me up with my boyfriend. Whenever he calls - no matter what button I touch - it hangs up on him. Or it answers in my pocket and gives him static for 10 minutes.

Tim did the drawing, I inked and corrected the arms, colored using the chalk feature on Painter.

In the Shower

This is a little doodle I did in my sketchbook and then scanned in. Hand inked, colored in Photoshop.

In my own time in gym showers I rarely have such confidence. I'm usually scurrying from the showers straight to the lockers with my eyes down. When I go to the gym...which hasn't been for some time.

TWO Followers!!

It's all about baby steps.

Which one will be juuuust right?

A fun twist on Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Best thing about this drawing: discovering the brush control that allowed me to create soft body hair without having to draw every strand as in the Wolfie drawing.

Tim thinks the bears should look more angry at finding a naked twink in their bed. Who's ever been angry at that?!

Process: sketched on Painter, printed, lightboxed a final drawing in pencil, inked, scanned, colored in painter.

FuzzyCub

Just felt like drawing a little buff guy. In the original pencil I changed the face: the head-on angle was weird. I liked him a little self conscious with the 'am I allowed to look at the camera' look.

I scanned the original pencil and the subsequent pencil. Inked the final pencil by hand, and then also digitally inked the final pencil. Then colored the DInked version in Painter. Now working on a copy in PS. Just playing at the moment to see what things do.

My What Big Arms You Have

I've got a thing for guys with big arms. I have actually said the line above and it got me thinking about Little Red Riding Hood and her encounter with the wolf dressed as Grandma. "My what big eyes you have" Red Riding Hood says. "The better to see you with."

This is my interpretation with a little artistic license thrown in. Drawn on paper, scanned, and digitally painted in painter. I'm really loving that program now - the more I learn the more I love it!

One more silly one!

Actually there is one more silly drawing from the original Gods series. In Greek myth there is the story of Cupid and Psyche. Cupid falls in love with Psyche and kidnaps her and comes to her under the cover of darkness to hide his identity as a god. Over time Psyche falls in love with Cupid and sneaks a look at him when he is sleeping. He wakes up, gets pissed off, and the whole deal is over.

My juvenile mind immediately jumped to a bad visual pun. Enjoy.

Gods & Monsters 6

This is the last of the original drawings from 2007. They have been really fun to color, so I may jump in and do some more.

This is Hermes, also drawn by Tim Fish and inked by him as well. I colored using Painter and Photoshop. I'm getting better at Painter by the day - in this drawing and the one previous I discovered the blending tool - which is invaluable at creating subtle gradations.

I still haven't dabbled too much into the other brushes...perhaps in the future.

Hermes was colored in about an hour and a half (by comparison Mars took almost a full day - mostly to correct errors and learn how to use things).

Gods and Monsters 5

The last two drawings were done, like Mars, collaboratively between Tim Fish and myself. For Phaeton here, Tim did the drawing, I inked it and then colored.

Phaeton is the son of Adonis - the sun god - who asks his father if he can drive the golden chariot across the sky just once. Cause, what could go wrong, right?

Well Phaeton almost immediately loses control of the chariot. He swoops too low and scorches the earth, flies too high and illuminates the night and eventually one of the gods strikes him dead to stop the chaos.

Despite Tims great drawing skills there is one little error. See if you can find it.

Gods & Monster 4

Mars. Here's where you can see Tim's far superior comic skills. Tim drew the pencil, I digitally inked the drawing in Painter and then colored it in Painter as well. I really am loving the techniques available in Painter. Too often colored comics look like Disney movie gels, with super slick colors and even tone. Painter allows you to get dirty and messy.

I used flat colors in the backgrounds and then went in with techniques like dry-brush, pen & ink and wet acrylics on top. I left the Multiply layer on to see the inking, but in the future I may try to incorporate the inking into the actual painting layer.

Also, the metal bits on the double sword are a little meh for me. I need to study some other techniques and see what happens.
